PERCUTI RHYTHM ENSEMBLE.

It’s related to Ethnic Fusion World Beat music: a repertoire of songs and music compositions featuring World Percussion and Chants, Guitars, Bass, Drum set, Keyboards, Sax, Sitar, etc. with an exotic blend of sounds, rhythms and melodies.  The Ensemble is comprised of world-class artists with international experience.

PERCUTI RHYTHM ENSEMBLE combines percussion rhythms, instruments and chants from ancient world cultures; Indian-Industani, African-Senegal, Ghana, Morocco, Mediterranean-Mideastern, European-Spanish, Irish, Eastern Europe; The Americas-Latin, Andean, Brazilian, Argentinean; with modern music styles like Drum n’ Bass, World Beat, Electronica, Jazz, augmented by other instruments as Guitars, Bass, Keyboards, Drum set, Horns, Sitar, Mandolin; and technology sources, like synths, loops, samples and digital programming.

PERCUTI RHYTHM ENSEMBLEcreates an original sound, with the variety and beauty of modern styles combined with the wisdom inspired by different ancient cultures that can be found as a heritage in our days.

As an example, one of the songs we play is a cover version of James Brown I’ve Got You (I Feel Good), performed with Mideastern Instrumentation and rhythms.

Or an original song composed by myself called FlaTango, which combines Spanish Flamenco, Industani Raga chant and instruments from India. Also, an African poly-rhythmic cycle called Fanga, orchestrated with African percussion instruments, sample loops and synth background sounds, etc.
The repertoire includes original compositions, as well as covers of some popular songs and chants from different music cultures around the world, with lyrics in English, Spanish, Portuguese, Hindi, Hebrew, Arabic and Indian Ragas.

The ensemble features musicians Simon Thomsen on drum set and percussion, Andrew Brown on percussion and Bass, Nissim Malul on Percussion, and myself Rik Hambra as World Percussionist and Singer, artistic coordinator and bandleader.

 

Other occasional guest musicians on Guitars, Bass, Sitar, Sax, Flute, Mandolin, etc. and colorful World Dance performers are included as well, depending on the event. 

High-level music and creative energy has given PERCUTI its category as a remarkable, dynamic, innovative and fun musical entertainment, ready to make any public or private event an unforgettable experience!

PERCUTI RHYTHM ENSEMBLE is open to bookings for all kinds of Entertainment, Social and Corporate events and venues. Recent venues featuring PERCUTI were at King King Hollywood, Molly Malones, House of blues (VIP Room), Standard Hotel, an other private parties and corporate events around California. We have musical settings starting from Solo presentations, Duo, Trio, or as a Quartet, plus other guests, depending on the different budgets and venue sizes. 

We can also include World Dancers on styles like Flamenco, Belly dance, Salsa, Samba, Tap and Kathak in our shows, adding a colorful visual excitement.
